Free Balochistan Movement, in an effort to inform the world about the massacre that took place last year in the city of Zahedan in Iranian-occupied Balochistan, organised a series of protest demonstrations. The first of these was held on September 23rd by the Netherlands branch, right in front of the Iranian Embassy in The Hague.

The protest began outside the main gate of the Iranian Embassy. Where, protesters raised slogans about the massacre of innocent Balochs in the city of Zahedan and the “bloody Friday”. Holding banners, they rallied from the embassy to their designated protest site, where chanted slogan against the massacre of the Baloch people in Zahedan.

It’s noteworthy that last year, at the Makki Mosque in Zahedan, the Iranian occupying forces had opened indiscriminate fire on unarmed and innocent Balochs. This led to dozens of civilians being martyred and hundreds injured. Following this, every Friday was remembered as this tragic day. Protests against the Iranian oppressors and these “bloody Fridays” proliferated throughout Balochistan.

The violence and oppression of the Iranian forces resulted in even more innocent Baloch deaths, with the death toll from these protests eventually exceeding 300. The protesters chanted that Balochistan belongs neither to Iran nor Pakistan. Instead, it has its distinct identity, rich cultural, and national heritage. Whether under Iranian subjugation or Pakistani occupation, the Baloch everywhere are committed to keeping their resistance and political ideology alive, aiming for an independent homeland. Their ultimate goal is to achieve a free and united Baloch state, in line with their aspirations and status.

In conclusion, representatives of Free Balochistan Movement Netherlands branch delivered brief speeches, outlining their demands. The speakers emphasized the need for strong unity and cooperation in the fight against both the Iranian and Pakistani occupiers. They urged that, without being caught up in the artificially imposed borders and the divisions of East and West created by adversaries, Balochistan should be regarded as a singular entity. The global institutions should be approached in an effective manner to advocate for Balochistan’s sovereignty and recognition.
