Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) organized a protest in front of the Iranian embassy in Helsinki, emphasizing the atrocities faced by the Baloch people in Iranian occupied Balochistan. This demonstration was aimed at shedding light on the Zahedan massacre, the tragic events of 30 September last year. Iranian forces killed hundreds of peaceful protesters and injured many more at the Makki mosque while they were demonstrating against the rape of a young girl by Iranian forces.

Prominent representatives from the FBM, as well as Baloch and Pashtun activists, participated in the protest. Sadiq Raisani, the FBM’s head of the tribal department, emphasized the continuing oppression and atrocities against the Baloch people by both Iran and Pakistan. He highlighted the significant number of deaths and injuries inflicted upon the Baloch people in Zahedan by Iranian forces last year. Sadiq Raisani pointed out China’s concerning role, and backing of both Iran and Pakistan in these human rights abuses and exploiting Baloch resources.

Sadiq said, Before Pakistan’s creation by the British, Balochistan was an independent state. The Baloch people, like all nations, have an inherent right to freedom.

Several notable figures, including Abdul Bari Badaich, Shafiq Ullah Yousafzai, Hashim Askari, and Maula Baksh Marri, addressed the gathering, urging the global community to recognize and act against the Baloch genocide perpetrated by Iran and Pakistan.

This protest is part of a series announced by FBM leader Hyrbyair Marri, to highlight the massacres and Baloch genocide committed by Iran and Pakistan since the occupation of Balochistan.
