FBM Announces to  Dissolve Negotiation Committee for an alliance with pro-freedom parties
Share

LONDON: The Free Balochistan Movement, in a statement to the media on Sunday, said that keeping in view the changing political and military situation of the region, it had formed a committee in October 2021 to start formal negotiations on cooperation with Baloch pro-independence political parties.

The purpose of the initiative was to resolve the political differences and to formulate a joint plan of action with other pro-independence parties so that all parties could work together and create a roadmap for cooperation to strengthen the struggle for a unified Balochistan.

The statement further said that the Free Balochistan Movement believes that without consolidating and unifying the national power, we will undoubtedly face difficulties in achieving the goal of Balochistan’s independence. The Free Balochistan Movement will continue its efforts to bring together the collective Baloch power in one place, even though we will face various challenges today and in the future. But considering the Baloch people as the fundamental source of power, we will not spare any effort in giving them a direction and a collective platform.

However, despite all these efforts from our side to make the alliance talks successful, it is with great regret that we have to say that we were not successful in this attempt. Unfortunately, despite continuous efforts for almost two years and ten months, this process could not succeed.

For an alliance process to be successful, all parties need to show immense enthusiasm for the national needs and purpose of the alliance. An alliance cannot be based on the efforts of just one party; rather, for a long-lasting and principled alliance, all parties must come together with a national mindset and sincerity. But despite continuous contact regarding the alliance, we have noticed an atmosphere of apathy and non-seriousness on the part of the other parties and their leadership, which is discouraging for the Baloch national struggle.

Therefore, considering all these facts including the unwillingness and non-seriousness of the other parties, the cabinet of FBM has decided to dissolve the alliance committee two weeks after this statement’s date of issue.

The Free Balochistan Movement also made it clear that the party is ready at all times for the alliance process among Baloch pro-independence parties. The FBM said, “We also believe that without an alliance, our national strength will remain weak and scattered, which has been taken advantage of by enemy forces in the past, and they will continue to do so in the future as well. But it should also be kept in mind that seriousness, principle-based negotiations, and good intent are of utmost importance for any beneficial alliance.”
