Free Balochistan Movement will stage protests on Saturday the 28th May against the nuclear tests conducted by Pakistani army in Raskoh district Chagai Balochistan on 28 May 1998.
Pakistan occupied Balochistan on 27 March 1948 on gunpoint after Balochistan house of parliament unanimously rejected Pakistani request to annex Balochistan with Pakistan, which was a blatant aggression against the sovereignty and independence of Balochistan.
Since then Pakistan has been committing various crimes in Balochistan that includes
human rights violations, ethnic cleansing, genocide, enforced disappearances, looting and exploiting
the precious resources of Balochistan.
As it is common among the colonisers to destroy and exploit the colonised nations and their land
mercilessly, despite having a vast land in Panjab, Pakistan and its army took an unprecedented
act in history of colonisers by choosing Balochistan for its dirty and lethal nuke tests. Pakistan
has also destroyed the life of all species in Balochistan by testing its nuclear bombs in Raskoh area of
district Chagai Balochistan. Since the lethal nuclear bomb tests in this area, Pakistan has never taken
any protective measures to save the life from effects of nuclear radiation and waste. The
fauna and flora in this area of Chaghi and the surrounding areas are severely affected, the new born
children are born disabled with affected limbs, the drinking water is toxic and fatal as the result of the nuke tests and radiation. Various diseases including thyroid cancers, skin cancer, gynaecological diseases are common in Chagai and
the surrounding areas of region which are the direct result of the nuclear radiations. Pakistan is reluctant to allow the concerned international agencies to inspect the site and measure the radiation affects.
Free Balochistan Movement UK and German branches will hold separate protests in UK and Germnay to press human rights organisations and international bodies to send fact finding missions in occupied Balochistan to measure the radiation caused by the nuke tests of Pakistan in Chaghi and also take notice of human rights violations by Pakistani Army in occupied Balochistan.
The UK FBM UK Branch protest will be held in Ten downing street before
the house of British prime minister at 14:00 to 16:00 pm on Saturday 28th May and Germany Branch protest will be held in Potsdam at 14:00 to 17 pm.
We requests all the Baloch and other democratic and human rights
organisations to participate and raise your voice against inhuman actions being committed by
Pakistan in occupied Balochistan.
